LSS BUDGET

The Abbe’ Pierre told me  that the first condition to practice the vow of poverty in modern times, when you need to use finances, is, what he called in French affichage, that means to publish your own accounts. That what we want to did with our first budget. That was a small budget. In the last years our expenditure had been no less then twenty lakhs.

Letter No. 11, Bombay, September 1977.

As you can see the biggest expenditure is, of course, for salaries. One doctor, one social worker, six paramedicals, for auxiliaries, a dozen salaries per month. You may wander also why we spend so little in medicines; it is because the drugs for leprosy treatment we get free from Italian and German Leprosy Relief Association. A big thank to you and to them. If you continue we will continue.

Sr. Luigina has started a second kindergarten in Cheeta Camp. We have with us also Anisa, a novice of the Daughters of the Cross. Salafia is looking forward to finish his studies and come to work with us. We would like to do more health education, for this purpose we sent one paramedical for a special course of two months. Our work is getting organized and we can look at the future with confidence.

Our best greetings to all of you.
